New here

The renewed energy and light that fresh new beginnings seem to bring is positively scrumptious. And, so is this little ham with his delicious rolls, his gorgeous pout, and all the adoration being poured on him by mommy, daddy, and big brother. Time and time again, I'm so very honoured to be welcomed in to your homes, into your lives, to document these beautiful days.

Hello, little one! Even though you made your appearance months ago, you're new to my little space here and I'm beyond privileged to have met you!

Imprinted

These beautiful lines.... the creases and folds of skin that make up your babies fingerprints and footprints. So intricate and delicate and marvellous knowing this... this art... was created from swishing around in your womb! Imprinted forever on your child's hands, their feet, and in our hearts.

If you crave natural and simple newborn photos that'll stand the test of time, be it in my home studio or within your own home, gimme a shout. I'd love to meet you and your crew. xo

Big Family, Big Love

When you meet a family and catch glimpses of both your past and your future, you leave with such a curious feeling - a heart full of familiarity with a certain closeness of revisiting a time and place so adored, and a longing for future little faces, little beings to love. Seriously, this sweet family of six makes me wanna have more babes.

I met Ruth, a fellow photographer, at a workshop last year and we've since travelled to the west coast earlier this year to attend another. During that time, I learned so much about her life, her family, her aspirations... and so meeting her husband and children - and getting to photograph them together - was especially rad. These people share a love so sweet, and have seemly weaved this beautiful cocoon in creating their family. And, while their bonds are strong and their faith is unwavering, they encourage their children to spread their wings freely to fly on their own.

R + D, you've got it good. Thank you for letting me in, for a little while.

Slow, newborn days

Relishing in newborn days... engulfed in the bubble that pulls your family in nice & close. You don't know the day of the week, and time is at a stand-still while you get to know the human being you helped create, that you grew for a better part of a year, and who you dreamt of day and night.

This is what I love to capture. Natural, honest, newborn photos... full of your baby's personality that's already taking shape.

If you've got a baby on the way, and you'd like to document those slow, beautiful newborn days in an authentic, and natural approach, I'd be more than honoured to be your gal. Gimme a shout!

LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL

When kisses flow freely, without backhanded wipes. Little soft hands reach to grasp yours. Curious questions and funny conversations keep you and your partner endlessly entertained. These are the days!

A COLD AUTUMN DAY

These guys know how to rock an outdoor session in cold weather, m'friends. Families take note: This little group came prepared with a thermos full of hot tea, fuzzy hot-water heating pads for the kids to hug during off-camera time, blankets galore, AND they managed to dress warm while looking damn good doing so. Bonus points rewarded for not being matchy-matchy!

Well done, my friends, well done.

GIMME MORE

YES. Gimme more of this. Right here. Show me your love, your embrace, the way you fit together. Let's capture your beautiful interactions - the way you make eachother laugh, how your eyes sparkle when you look at one another, and how you hold hands & dream of that little being you are bringing into this world. This is what is so addicting for me, what I love about photography, and what has me craving mooooore.

This session, in all its moody glory, almost didn't happen. It was a foul October day, and I was considering cancelling due to the weather. Yet this beautiful couple insisted we roll with it, and I'm SO glad we did. We ventured to the Scarborough Bluffs and Marina where Evan's parents have a boat and they spend a lot of time in the summer. Despite enduring whipping winds, stormy clouds, and some light rain, these two amazing souls kept a focus so strong on one another, it warmed me to the core, making this one of my favourite maternity sessions to date.

Let's get together and capture your real, honest connections... and nothing else. No props, no arbitrary themes. Just a focus on your love, your family, your lives here and now, in this moment. You down?

SOMETIMES

Sometimes you have to go out on a creative limb. Explore those areas within you that you'd rather edge away from, where safety and comfort is juuuuust outside your reach. Sometimes you need to be vulnerable, wear your heart on your sleeve, take risks and ask a favour. From people you barely know. Hard, right? Because it's the only way you're able to grow and set yourself free. Because deep down you know if you do, if you push past boundaries, those queasy doubts and fears of rejection and looking foolish and wondering if anyone else 'gets' you, and just do what YOU want to do, something beautiful happens.

And sometimes, your wacky invitation will be met. And, not only will they dig your vision, but they'll join your tribe. They'll bring all their heart and soul with them; their music, their dance, their laughter, and their play. They'll be fully present, in the moment, and truly enjoy themselves, making the most of that little flash of time together. And THAT, my friends, is what I long for. It's what fills me up. What makes my heart sing, and what I want to dedicate my working life to. Capturing genuine, lovely, natural family moments that'll stand the test of time.

If you are in the Hamilton area, looking for heartfelt family photos with a little more... spirit... more energy... more life... more of YOU GUYS... gimme a shout. I'd love to meet you.

YOUR HOME, YOUR HAVEN

Last month I sought out this beautiful mother & daughter duo for a personal project. I was looking for a chance to experiment with shooting in a home similar to my first house; a small mid-century bungalow... a home I terribly miss. You see, it doesn't matter how big or current your home is, what matters is it's your home, your haven. Full of love, and pieces of you, full of memories made, and in the making. And, it can be just as beautiful a location to capture your family as any.

These two welcomed me warmly, and I couldn't be happier...
